At CalZone, we build every calculator, guide, and article on this site ourselves. We take copyright seriously — both protecting our own original work and respecting the rights of other creators. This page explains how we handle copyright under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), and what to do if you believe your content has been used on thecalzone.co.uk without permission.
Our Commitment to Original Content
Every calculator tool, formula explanation, and piece of written content published on CalZone is created in-house by our team. We don't scrape or repost content from other websites.
That said, with a site covering hundreds of topics — from mortgage calculations to solar panel yields — mistakes can occasionally happen, whether through a contributor's oversight or a technical error. If that's happened with something of yours, we want to know, and we'll act quickly.
Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you're the copyright owner (or authorised to act on their behalf) and you believe material on thecalzone.co.uk infringes your copyright, you can submit a formal takedown request. To be considered valid under the DMCA, your notice needs to include the following:

Your physical or electronic signature (a full name typed at the end of the email is sufficient).

The exact URL(s) on our site where the material appears — general descriptions or search terms aren't enough for us to locate the content.
Contact Details

Good-Faith Belief Statement
A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use of the material isn't authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
Statement Under Penalty of Perjury
A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you're the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.

What Happens Next
Once we receive a valid notice, here's what you can expect:
Review Claim
We review the claim, usually within 2–3 business days.
Remove or Disable Access
If the notice is valid, we remove or disable access to the material in question.
Notify Responsible Party
We notify the party who posted or is responsible for the content, where applicable, and give them the opportunity to respond.
Maintain Record
We keep a record of the notice and our response, as required under the DMCA.
Counter-Notification
If content of yours was removed and you believe this was done in error — for example, the material was misidentified, or you have the right to use it — you can file a counter-notice. Your counter-notice should include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and its location before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and phone number.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district (or, if outside the US, an appropriate jurisdiction), and that you'll accept service of process from the person who filed the original complaint.

Under the DMCA, if we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the removed content within 10–14 business days unless the original complainant informs us they've filed a court action.
Repeat Infringers
While we write and manage our own content, any user-submitted material (such as comments, if enabled on the site) found to repeatedly infringe copyright will result in removal of that content and, where appropriate, restriction of the user's access to submit further content.
