Sagittarius-Capricorn Cusp: Dates, Ingress Times & The Visionary Builder

The Sagittarius-Capricorn Cusp spans birthdays from December 19 through December 24, traditionally recognized as the 'Cusp of Prophecy.' It marks the transition where Mutable Fire (philosophical vision) merges into Cardinal Earth (structural manifestation) at the Winter Solstice.

Jupiter provides visionary foresight—the ability to perceive broad future trends—while Saturn provides the structural discipline and architectural realism needed to build that future into tangible reality. Those on this cusp do not merely predict trends; they build the enterprises that define them.

Astrophysically, no. The Sun occupies a single celestial coordinate at every fraction of a second. If you were born before the exact Winter Solstice ingress minute in your birth year, you are a late-degree Sagittarius Sun; if born after, you are an early-degree Capricorn Sun. However, individuals born in this 6-degree corridor experience the dual archetypal tension between Jupiter and Saturn.

Jupiter represents expansion, faith, and risk-taking, whereas Saturn represents contraction, realism, and risk mitigation. When harmonized, this polarity creates the ideal master strategist: bold enough to envision grand transformations, yet disciplined enough to calculate every logistical dependency.

Use our astronomical calculator with your exact birth certificate time and birth city. For example, on December 21, 2022, the Sun crossed into Capricorn at 21:48 UTC. A birth at 20:00 UTC produced a 29° Sagittarius Sun, while a birth at 22:30 UTC produced a 0° Capricorn Sun.
