It is anchor of the big three, alongside your moon sign (inner emotional life) and rising sign (outward style and first impressions).

Why the Dates Shift and What "Born on a Cusp" Really Means

The sun enters each sign at an exact astronomical moment and that moment falls at a slightly different time each year, sometimes drifting across a calendar day. So a 20 April birthday is Taurus in some years and still Aries in others. Newspaper date tables can't capture this, a proper calculation can.

This also settles the cusp question properly. "Born on a cusp" is popular shorthand, but astronomically sun is only ever in one sign at any moment. You do not have two sun signs.
