Dental Implant Cost Calculator UK
Dental implant quotes are hard to compare because no two clinics bundle same things into headline price. Our dental implant cost calculator UK tool estimates a realistic total for your treatment based on how many teeth need replacing, your region and whether preparatory work like bone grafting is likely, so you can judge quotes against an honest benchmark.

UK Market Insight
Private dental costs in London can be 30-50% higher than in the North of England or Wales. Always compare clinic-specific pricing.
How the Dental Implant Cost Calculator Works
Select number of teeth to replace, your part of UK and any additional procedures you have been told you need. The calculator combines current private treatment prices with regional adjustments to produce an expected cost range.
The 2026 benchmarks behind numbers, a single tooth implant typically costs £1,800 to £3,500 with most patients paying around £2,500 all in. An implant supported bridge replacing three teeth on two implants runs £3,500 to £6,000, a full arch on All-on-4 technique £9,000 to £15,000 per arch and full mouth restoration of both arches £18,000 to £28,000. London prices sit 15 to 25 percent above the national average while northern cities often come in below it.
What a Single Implant Price Is Made Of
An implant is a stack of components rather than one item and understanding stack is how you compare quotes properly. The titanium fixture placed in jaw costs roughly £400 to £800, abutment connecting it £200 to £400 and crown on top £600 to £1,200, with surgery, 3D CBCT scanning and planning making up rest.
This is where cheap headline prices hide. A £1,500 quote covering only fixture and surgery becomes £2,300 once abutment and crown arrive as separate lines. A complete quote should include consultation and CT scan, surgery, all three components, fitting appointments and a stated aftercare period. If any of those is missing, ask what it costs before comparing.
The Extras That Change the Total
Around a third of implant patients need at least one preparatory procedure and these are most common reasons a final quote exceeds advertised price. Bone grafting rebuilds jawbone that has receded after extraction or gum disease, a sinus lift creates bone height for upper back teeth and both add hundreds to a few thousand pounds depending on extent. Sedation beyond local anaesthetic, premium implant brands and zirconia upgrades on full arch work add more.
None of this means you are being overcharged, since bone loss genuinely happens quickly once teeth are missing. It does mean a written treatment plan itemising every procedure matters more than headline figure.
NHS, Finance and Paying for Treatment
The honest position on the NHS, implants are only funded in exceptional circumstances such as reconstruction after cancer treatment, significant trauma or congenital conditions and large majority of applicants do not qualify. For most people implants are private treatment.
That reality is why finance has become standard. Most implant clinics offer plans through FCA regulated lenders, typically interest free over 6 to 12 months with longer terms at around 10 to 15 percent APR, which puts a single implant in region of £60 to £120 a month over 2 to 3 years. Treatment abroad can cost a fraction of UK prices, but factor in travel for multiple visits, difficulty of aftercare at distance and cost of putting problems right at home, where repairing a failed implant can exceed the original UK price.
Choosing Who Does Work
Implants succeed 95 to 98 percent of time in experienced hands and choosing matters more than brand of implant. Check clinician's registration on General Dental Council register, ask about their implant specific training and how many they place each year and ask to see before and after cases similar to yours. The titanium fixture itself can last decades with good hygiene, while crowns typically need replacing after 10 to 15 years of wear, which is worth building into lifetime cost comparison against bridges and dentures. For anything beyond a straightforward single implant, a second opinion on the treatment plan is money well spent.
